un’expected’
I enjoy the challenge of being asked to shoot something that has been shot countless times before. Shot in all sorts of ‘expected’ ways by every level of photographer from passionate beginner to seasoned professional.
I throw myself at it and see if I can come up with something different… something with a splash of ‘me’ in it. It can be a very intimidating process and there is no guarantee that an original image will emerge from the process.
I think it worked this time.

beginnings.
I have never been one for bandwagons. Resolutions… one word for a year… boldly stating “I’m never doing (fill in the blank) again never ever” … all fertile opportunities for letdown in my book. I am mightily happy for those who find these things helpful – truly – I am just not one of them.
But fresh starts with no parameters? Big pulls of oxygen to the lungs, rolled up sleeves, diving in… works just fine for me. Just fine indeed.
Happiest of fresh new starts to you one and all, whatever that may be for you. Let’s do this thing, eh, 2013?
